12 check marks symbols for done, correct, verified. Tap any character to copy it — including the plain-text versions that survive any font.
Tap or click a character and it goes straight to your clipboard. These are Unicode text characters, not images, so they paste into any text field.
Ticks and crosses are the vocabulary of lists. The heavy check is the standard done mark, the ballot-box versions are for checklists you are writing by hand, and the full-colour emoji versions are the clearest choice anywhere they render.
There are 12 characters in this set. The grid above is the fastest way to take one — tap it and it is on your clipboard. The table below is the reference: the Unicode name of each character and the job people normally give it, so you can pick the right one instead of guessing from the shape.
| Symbol | Unicode name | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| ✓ | Check mark | the plain tick, used in lists and confirmations |
| ✔ | Heavy check mark | the bolder tick; reads as a definitive yes |
| ✅ | Check mark button | the full-colour emoji tick — the clearest choice on social |
| ☑ | Ballot box with check | a ticked box, used for checklists written by hand |
| ✗ | Ballot X | a thin cross for a negative answer |
| ✘ | Heavy ballot X | the bolder cross; the natural partner of ✔ |
| ❌ | Cross mark emoji | full-colour red cross |
| ☒ | Ballot box with X | a crossed box, for lists you are marking up manually |
Every character on this page is a button, and the steps are identical on a phone, a tablet and a desktop:
Nothing is installed and nothing is uploaded. These are standard Unicode characters, so the device you are already holding knows how to draw them.
Ordinary text is safe everywhere. The problems start with two groups: characters that need a font the receiving device may not ship with, and applications that deliberately filter what you can type.
| Place | Works? | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Instagram, TikTok, X bio and captions | Yes | Symbols and emoji both display; a handful of rare glyphs may render as a box on older Android versions |
| Discord display name and messages | Yes | Almost everything works, including the rarer box-drawing characters |
| WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal | Yes | Full support for emoji and symbols |
| Word, Google Docs, Excel, Sheets | Yes | Fine on a desktop; fonts on older Office installs may miss the newest glyphs |
| Most online games (usernames) | Sometimes | Many titles strip anything outside their font. Test with one symbol first |
| SMS | Yes, but | An emoji can push a message into a longer billing segment |
The practical rule: if you are decorating a bio or a document, paste freely. If you are building a username that has to survive a game login screen, start with one character, confirm it appears, then add the rest.
